How B2B Buyers Can Reduce Candle Jar Damage in Transit
A candle jar can pass production inspection and still arrive with chips, scratches or broken cartons if the export packing specification is incomplete. For brands, wholesalers and importers, packaging should be approved as carefully as the vessel itself.
These four checks can help buyers build a clearer packaging and quality-control plan for bulk candle jar orders.
1. Review the complete packed product
Confirm whether jars, lids and accessories will be packed together or separately. A lid that looks correct on a sample may require different protection during transport. The packing specification should identify every component and show where it sits inside the carton.
If your order includes several jar sizes or lid materials, do not assume that one packing method will suit every SKU.

2. Prevent contact and movement
Glass-to-glass or ceramic-to-ceramic contact creates an avoidable risk during repeated handling. Ask how each vessel is separated, supported and prevented from moving inside the carton.
Dividers, sleeves or other protective materials should match the shape and surface of the product. Decorative edges, protruding patterns and irregular ceramic shapes may need different protection from a smooth cylindrical glass jar.

3. Protect customized finishes
Breakage is not the only possible transit problem. Printed logos, colored coatings, labels and matte surfaces can also be scratched or marked.
Review how the decorated surface will be protected from dividers, lids and neighboring jars. A visually perfect sample is not enough if the bulk packing method allows surfaces to rub together during transport.
4. Approve and document the packing method
Before bulk dispatch, request a clear packing description. This can include the number of pieces per carton, internal arrangement, carton markings and photos of the packed goods.
Ask whether the proposed method is suitable for your shipping route and handling plan. If your business or logistics partner requires a particular packaging or transit test, provide the requirement before production. Keep the approved packing reference with the product specification so it can also support final inspection.

After delivery, record damaged quantities and where the damage appeared. Carton location, jar position and photos can help identify whether the issue relates to individual protection, internal movement or outer-carton handling.
