How to Plan MOQ Across Custom Candle Jar Designs
A bulk packaging order can look simple on a quotation: one jar style, several colours, different lids and multiple fragrance names. In practice, each variation may create a separate production and quality-control requirement.
For candle brands, wholesalers and distributors, MOQ planning should be based on the complete SKU specification—not only the total number of jars.
Define Every SKU Clearly
A SKU should identify the vessel model, capacity, colour, surface finish, lid, logo method and quantity. For example, a clear glass jar with a printed logo is not automatically the same production item as the same jar in matte black with an engraved lid.
When buyers request several variations, they should list the quantity required for each version. This helps suppliers confirm whether the order is workable for the selected colour, decoration process and component combination.
Do Not Assume One Total Quantity Covers Every Design
A total order of several thousand pieces does not always mean every colour or finish can be produced in very small quantities. Materials, colour treatments, printing setups and lid options may have different order requirements.
Before confirming a project, ask which MOQ applies to each vessel colour, logo process, lid and packaging option. This avoids approving a collection design that cannot be produced at the intended allocation.
Simplify Where It Helps
Brands do not need to make every product identical. However, using one jar shape across several fragrance names can simplify sourcing, carton planning and repeat ordering.
A collection can still look varied through labels, printed artwork, colour accents or different lid treatments. This approach can help buyers create a coordinated range while keeping the production specification easier to manage.
Approve the Final Quantity Breakdown
Before production, confirm a written order breakdown showing every design, colour, lid, logo and quantity. The approved sample should match the corresponding SKU, especially when several similar-looking versions are included in one shipment.
For repeat orders, review the previous allocation instead of assuming it remains suitable. A new fragrance, colour or decoration process may need its own MOQ and sampling discussion.
